One of the prioritized recommendations included in the Governor’s Task Force on Academic Health final report released earlier this week is the development of a strategic plan for our health sciences that includes shared goals and strategies for our six health professional schools.
The report states these goals and strategies are needed "to strengthen interprofessional learning and clinical training, as well as goals and strategies to innovate for the future of health care through partnerships with other University programs and the State of Minnesota. The strategic plan should include goals and/or strategies related to:
- increasing the number of graduates from health professional schools while maintaining quality;
- designing and piloting breakthrough public health and care delivery models."
We will also develop new models of interprofessional training.

CTSI Receives Funding Award to Support Comprehensive Career Development
The K12 award will provide comprehensive career development support for early-career faculty, and is one part of CTSI’s overarching efforts to train a strong, diverse clinical and translational science workforce. The award will allow CTSI to build upon its highly successful and popular KL2 program, with the goal of helping assistant professors conducting clinical or translational research become successful, independent, effective team scientists and leaders.
Research Ethics Week Feb. 26-March 1
This annual week-long series of college and department-led educational opportunities focuses on professional development and best practices to promote, maintain, and model high standards of ethics and integrity in research. The series includes the Annual Research Ethics Day Conference, "Building Partnerships to Advance Ethical Research: Collaborators, Communities & Companies," on Feb. 28.

Advance Your Regenerative Medicine-Based Project
Are you discovering or developing a regenerative medicine-based innovation, such as a therapeutic, diagnostic, medical device or tool? Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (RMM) can help advance your project. The 2024 RMM Request for Proposals supports regenerative medicine projects in four separate funding tracks: discovery of novel regenerative medicine therapeutic approaches or innovations; translation of regenerative medicine-based innovations towards clinical study or broad end use; clinical trials for regenerative medicine-based interventions; infrastructure to develop and commercialize regenerative medicine-based innovations.
