Joint Strategic Planning

Author
VP Jakub Tolar, MD, PhD

One of the prioritized recommendations included in the Governor’s Task Force on Academic Health final report released earlier this week is the development of a strategic plan for our health sciences that includes shared goals and strategies for our six health professional schools.

The report states these goals and strategies are needed "to strengthen interprofessional learning and clinical training, as well as goals and strategies to innovate for the future of health care through partnerships with other University programs and the State of Minnesota. The strategic plan should include goals and/or strategies related to:

  • increasing the number of graduates from health professional schools while maintaining quality;
  • designing and piloting breakthrough public health and care delivery models."

We will also develop new models of interprofessional training.

Your engagement is critical as we begin this very important work. We need to hear your voice, your concerns, and your ideas.

Details on how you can engage in the shared strategic planning will be shared as they become available. Thank you for helping to strengthen our alignment and collaborations across the health sciences to best meet the health needs of Minnesota through education and training of the state’s health workforce, health research and clinical care.
